HSA DANCE TROOP PERFORMS AT 1ST STATE-WIDE HAITIAN HERITAGE DAY PARADE

(left to right: Maureen Malivert, Marquis Tyree, Marcoldala Jean)

Our dance troop had the privilege to perform at this year's FIRST state-wide Haitian Heritage Parade, Sunday, May 23, 2010 at Military Park in Newark, New Jersey. HSA DT,stunned the audience with the numerous styles of dancing such as Rara, Kompa, Canival, and African. With music by  Boukman Eksperya's Imamou Lele and Music System Primiere Gaou, they kept the native dance and culture of our ancestors, adding their own style of modern dance. Maureen, Marquis, and Marcoldala are active members of HSA and have performed at our Annual Cultural Soiree in the past fall semester. They love to dance and work hard at what they do. So do not be surprised to see them at our upcoming events! Keep up the good work DT!

Well, the story was on HSA DT, and unfortunately she is not part of MSU HSA. I did not want to give people the false belief that she is. However, I will find out who she is and will include her in the story.
